With the retirement in July 2021 of our highly esteemed professor Ben van Oosten at hand Codarts, Rotterdam started looking for a successor. After an international selection process, two candidates ended up in the same place. By mutual agreement they decided to take over Ben van Oosten's job together. In this way the valuable principle of team-teaching within the organ department can be continued optimally, and Ben's specialism - the symphonic organ repertoire - is doubly guaranteed in our study programme. Codarts hereby proudly introduce you to our new organ teachers.

With the appointment of Zuzana and Christian the staff of the organ department is complete again. Together with the principal study teachers Aart Bergwerff (who is also teaching arranging for organ and organ building) and Bas de Vroome (who is also teaching music didactics and basso continuo) and the specialists Hayo Boerema (improvisation/liturgical practice), Hanna Rijken (liturgy), Arie Hoek (hymnology and cantorate), Connie de Jongh (singing) and Marcel Zijlstra (plainchant), the Rotterdam organ team is ready for the education of the next generation of organists.
